In the fall of 2008 Brendan Callas, Bryce Styan and Steve Whittaker got together to form Giant Con – an experimental folk rock trio that fuses so’ful piano, acoustic guitar and howling vocals into a salvo of story influenced grooves. Based out of Yellowknife N.T. – all three members are life-long northerners. Spending long days and nights spilling melodies around camp fires, Giant Con has built a strong local following and has played at almost all local venues. In 2009, Giant Con released a self-titled EP and played at Folk on the Rocks, Caribou Carnival, Do It Up Magazine Release, Old Town Ramble & Ride, various house parties, and more.

Also, in the spring of 2009, Jay Bulckaert of COLLECTIVE9 approached Giant Con about doing a music video. The project soon grew with tons of local sponsorship and support. The trailer for the final product, which debuted in Yellowknife in front a packed 220 person theatre, is in the ‘Tunes & Video’ link. DVD's will be available soon!
